Second Food Distribution A Success

On Wednesday, Nov. 18, the Gainesboro 1st United Methodist Church on Main Street held their second food distribution in two months this time they were able to hand out almost 3,000 boxes of perishable food consisting of chicken, milk and vegetables.

This was distributed by a reservation only system that allowed volunteers to distribute the 90,000 pounds of food without anyone having to wait in line or block traffic. The food was obtained through the USDA and paid for with COVID-19 relief funds allocated by Congress.
