The Blue Devils of Jackson County High School took the court to face the Tigers of Gordonsville High School on Tuesday, Jan. 19.
It was clear from the start that both teams wanted to win badly.
Both teams came out and went up and down the court and appeared evenly matched, but then after that something changed. It was like the Tigers had figured out what the Blue Devils were trying to do and were able to stop it.
At halftime the score was 38-19 Gordonsville.
In the second half things would get no better as the Blue Devils had no answers for the Tigers, and would lose 84-52. Leading in score for the Blue Devils was Ramon Cuevas with 12 points.
Scoring for the boys against Gordonsville was: Hayden Stacy with 11, Eli Burris with six, Chris Pigg with 11, Kendrick Brown with four, Andrew Allen with six and Grayson Smith with two.
Following the game against Gordonsville was a game against Van Buren County on Thursday, Jan. 21.
The Blue Devils took the court and never looked back on Thursday night as they outscored their opponent in every quarter and had the lead at halftime of 27-20.
