Dimple R. Mounts

Dimple R. Mounts, 88, of Dodson Branch, passed away March 5 at Signature Health Care Center. Funeral services were held March 8 at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Heady officiating. Interment followed at Fairmont Willow Hills Memorial Gardens in Willow Springs, Ill.

She was a cookie inspector for Nabisco for 26 years.

She was preceded in death by: parents, Grover and Nora Maberry Hicks; husband, James C. Mounts; son, David Lee Mounts; sisters, Bonnie Chrismer and Doris Fugate; and brothers, Joe Hix and Bobby S. Hix.

Surviving relatives include: daughters, Debra K. Baglarz and Rhonda G. Bobrick; sister, Mary Cantrell of CA; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; and other relatives and many friends.

Jonah Jack (Jacky) Fox

Jonah Jack (Jacky) Fox, 64 of McMinnville, passed away March 6 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro. Funeral services were held March 10 in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Frieze officiating. Interment followed in the Byers Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 20, 1957 in Jackson County. He was a maintenance technician and a member of the New Voice Worship Center in McMinnville.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Carl Mitchell Fox, Sr. and Thelma Lucille Heady Fox; brother, Carl Mitchell Fox; and sister, Betty Ann Christian.

Surviving relatives include: wife, Pamela Hankins Fox of McMinnville; sons, Jackie Dewayne Fox of McMinnville and James Mitchell Fox of Cookeville; step son, Heath Lane Girod of Kingsport; step daughter, Heather Nicole Girod of McMinnville; brother, Albert Lee Fox of Chestnut Mound; sister, Sallie Elizabeth Chaffin of Chestnut Mound; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and other relatives and many friends.

Sibbie Haney Smith

Sibbie Haney Smith, 86, of Gainesboro, passed away March 6 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. Funeral services were held March 9 at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Interment followed in the Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery.

She was born July 5, 1934 in Putnam County. She was a retired dispatcher for Twin Lakes Telephone Cooperative Corporation and a member of the Gainesboro Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by: parents, Melvin Ventson (Vent) Haney and Novan Wilmoth Haney; husband, Ed Meadows Smith; son Billy Joe Smith; brothers, Dalvia Haney, John Haney and Edsil Haney; sisters, Dessie Allen and Sharon Keylon; and daughter in law, Yvonne Smith.

Surviving relatives include: son, Tommy Smith of Oak Ridge; grandchildren, Todd Smith, Lee Smith, Jessica Smith, Jared Smith and Justin Smith; and great grandchildren, Lillie, Allie, Grayson and Bailey.

Terry M. Clinard

Terry M. Clinard, 77, of the Dodson Branch community, passed away March 9 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Memorial services were held March 12 at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Seth Clinard officiating. The family has chosen cremation.

He was born Feb. 3, 1944 in Davidson County. He worked as a roofer.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Lawrence Hugo Clinard and Hazel Frances Harris Clinard; grandchild, Zachary Dylon Clinard; brothers, Dacre “Larry” Clinard, David Clinard, Gordon Clinard, Lodoff Clinard and Lee Clinard; and sisters, Janice Kopp and Barbara Myatt.

Surviving relatives include: wife, Mattie Lue Clinard of Cookeville; son, Robert Dewayne Clinard of McMinnville; and sisters, Linda Mosier of Pleasant View and JoAnn Vanderpool of Nashville.

Ronnie Dunn

Ronnie Dunn, 73, of the Rock Castle community of DeKalb County, passed away March 7 at his residence. Funeral services were held March 10 at the Ozion Free Will Baptist Church in Baxter with Frank Davis and Robert Sheppard, Jr. officiating. Interment followed in the Pleasant View Cemetery on Cookeville Boat Dock Road.

He was born Feb. 22, 1948 in Baxter. He was a business owner, farmer, builder and craftsman. He attended the Dodson Branch Free Will Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Louis Dunn and Mary Lou Dunn; sister, Hellun Joice Dunn; and brothers, Alvie Dee, Carlis Lee and Bobie Ray Dunn.

Surviving relatives include: wife, Freda Sue Allen Dunn; son, Ronnie Dunn and wife, Amber; daughter, Angela Billings and husband, Jackie; sister, Darnell Nash and husband, James; grandchildren, Amber, Sadie, Maggie and Michael and wife, Kristen; and great grandchildren, Madison and Lewis.

Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangement.

Wands Sue Boles Chaffin

Wanda Sue Boles Chaffin, 69, of Gainesboro, passed away March 6 at her residence. The family has chosen cremation, with memorial services at a later date.

She was born Dec. 28, 1951 in Celina. She was a factory worker at Crotty.

She was preceded in death by: parents, Gurstle Boles and Irene Boles; brother, Hack Boles; and sisters, Mozelle Grace, Daffo Scott and Shirley Boles.

Surviving relatives include: son, Robert (Misty) Chaffin of Gainesboro; step daughter, Chevelle Johnson of Gainesboro; brother, Ray Boles of Celina; grandchildren, Lilly, Emma, Bella and CeCe Chaffin, all of Gainesboro; sisters in law, Pat Hopkins, Evelyn Keith, Juanita Herron and Mary Belle Denson; special sister in law, Irene Chaffin; and special friend, Greg Greasy Boles.

Betty J. Flatt

Betty J. Flatt, 78, of Cookeville, passed away March 7 at her residence. Graveside services were held March 9 at the Young Cemetery on Seven Knobs Road in Jackson County.

She was born Oct. 18, 1942 in Jackson County. She worked as an inspector at C & M Clothing for 27 years and was a member of the College Side Church of Christ and Center Grove Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by: parents, Durwood James Thomas and Fatchie Lou Thomas; husband, Paul Flatt; sister, Reba Mayberry; and brothers, Donnie Thomas and Billy Paul Mayberry.

Surviving relatives include: daughters, Tenna K. Flatt, Trena Renay Greenwood and Tammy Faye Davis, all of Cookeville; and grandchild, Chadwin Blake Greenwood of Cookeville.

Gene Kennedy

Gene Kennedy, 75, of the Whites Bend community, passed away March 10 at his residence. The family has chosen cremation, with no services at this time.

He was born May 16, 1945 in Pikeville, Ky. He worked in a paper mill and was a member of the Gainesboro First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Monte Kennedy and Victoria Gilman Kennedy; daughter, Elizabeth Reedy; brothers, Lawton Kennedy, Harold Kennedy, George Kennedy, Floyd Kennedy and Leslie Kennedy; and sisters, Lorainne Johnson and Joyce Bentley.

Surviving relatives include: wife, Georgia Kennedy of Gainesboro; sons, Michael (Tammy) Kennedy and Dewayne (Leslie) Kennedy, all of Dayton, Ohio and Joseph Reedy of Gainesboro; daughter, Terri (Randy) Milby of West Union, Ohio; brothers, William (Priscilla) Kennedy and Byrd (Barb) Kennedy, all of Dayton, Ohio and Jonah (Rosa) Kennedy of Westport News, Va.; sisters, Carolene Morningstar of Eaton, Ohio, Alethagale Kennedy of Franklin, Ohio and Evelyn Kennedy of Chatsworth, Ga; 14 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and multiple nieces and nephews along with many friends.
