Charles Buford McBroom

Charles Buford McBroom, 81, of Gainesboro, passed away April 15 at Celina Health and Rehab. Funeral services were held April 18 at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Matthew Scoggins officiating. Interment followed in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community.

He was born Feb. 7, 1940 in Putnam County. He was retired from the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the former Sheriff of Jackson County. He also worked for the Cookeville Police Department and the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department. He served in the Army National Guard.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Sidney Carlen McBroom and Ofa Campbell McBroom; wife, Carole McBroom; step son, Tommy Jones; brothers, Luther Franklin McBroom, Kenneth McBroom. Frank McBroom, Bernice McBroom, Lindy McBroom and Harold McBroom; and sister, Jo Dixon.

Surviving relatives include: daughter, Kristi (Jamie) Ellis of Gainesboro; step daughter, Teresa (Tim) Dillehay of Cookeville; brother, Doug (Jane) McBroom of Cookeville; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen McBroom of Cookeville; grandchild, Brittney (Clain) Trekell of Baxter; step grandchildren, Will Dillehay and Thomas Dillehay, both of Cookeville; and several nieces and nephews.

Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

 

John “Tudor” Stafford

John “Tudor” Stafford, 62, of the McCoinsville community, passed away April 9 at his residence. Funeral services were held April 13 at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Interment followed in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community.

He was born Dec. 29, 1958 in Jackson County. He worked as a paver and a machine operator.

He was preceded in death by: parents, James Edward “Foss” Stafford, Jr. and Martha Dean Pippin Stafford; and brother, Jerry Stafford.

Surviving relatives include: fiancee, Mary Montez of Gainesboro; sons, Byron Montez of Rickman and Gabriel Montez of Gainesboro; sisters, Carolyn Ramsey of Livingston and Joann Carver of Gainesboro; and grandchildren, Liam Montez, August River Montez and Cameron Montez.

Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
