Greta Sue Flatt

Greta Sue Flatt, 76, of Cookeville, passed away April 28 at NHC Health Care in Cookeville. A private funeral service was held at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Interment followed in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.

She was born July 8, 1944 in Orlinda, TN. She worked as a receptionist for Dr. James Grisolano and was a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by: parents, Burris Jones and Bessie Jones; brothers, Ted Jones and Freddy (Ruby) Jones; father in law and mother in law, Benton and Cleo Flatt; and brothers in law and sisters in law, Leamon and Lu Flatt, Don and Carolyn Flatt, Dowell Flatt and Leonard Fox.

Surviving relatives include: husband, Kenneth R. Flatt of Cookeville; children, Dwayne (Jen) Whitson of Cookeville, Sherri (Jason) Yealey of Suffolk, Va., Lee M. (Marcie) Flatt of Gainesboro, Marcia (Bobby) Romines of Cookeville and Casey (Linette) Flatt of Cookeville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rosemary Jones, Bill and Louise Flatt, Jimmy and Linda Anderson, Wanda and Joey Crabtree, Rose Fox and Della Flatt; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

 

Jerry Wayne Holt

Jerry Wayne Holt, 72, of Cookeville, passed away April 27 at his residence. Funeral services were held April 30 at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Interment followed in the Flatt-Woolbright Cemetery.

He was born Nov. 20, 1948 in Hazel Green, Ala. He was retired from the Division of Property Assessment as Regional Supervisor and served in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Jeremiah Brooks Holt and Mary Lee McCool Holt; brothers, J B Holt and James Holt; and sister, Mattie Mae Hulsey.

Surviving relatives include: wife, Pam Holt of Cookeville; son, Jeremy (Logan Lawalin) Holt of Savannah, Ga.; daughters, Amanda (Chris) Harris of Baxter and Lori (Sam) Somerville-Hamlin of W. Va.; grandchildren, Addyson and Annabella Harris, both of Baxter; sisters, Barbara (Alton) Moore of Meridanville, Ala. and Carolyn Newton of Harvest, Ala.; and special pet, Lucy Holt.

Terilyn Locke Allen

Terilyn Locke Allen, 36, of Gainesboro, passed away April 25 at her residence. Funeral services were held May 1 at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Matthew Scoggins officiating. Interment followed in the Pharris Cemetery.

She was born June 11, 1985 in Cookeville. She was a caregiver to her mother.

She was preceded in death by: father, Landon Locker; paternal grandparents, Jim T. and Dorothy Locke; and maternal grandparents, Edward and Mary Tinsley.

Surviving relatives include: sons, Lucas Allen and Leeland Allen, both of Cookeville; her mother, Janice Locke of Gainesboro; and other relatives and many friends.

Tracey Thomas

Tracey Thomas, 57, of Bloomington Springs, passed away April 22 in Cookeville. Funeral services were held April 28 at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Frazier officiating. The family has chosen cremation.

He was born Dec. 25, 1963 in Detroit, MI. He was a factory worker at Fleetguard and attended the Sunlight Church.

He was preceded in death by: parents, R B Thomas and Janice Lois Alcorn Allen; aunt, Jewel Mitchell; and uncle, Richard Thomas.

Surviving relatives include: son, Tracey Blake Thomas, Jr. of Hartsville; brothers, Timothy Drake Thomas of Independence, MO and Terry Thomas of Gainesboro; and granddaughter, Dalyla J.F. Thomas of Cookeville.

Tommy Knight

Tommy Knight, 58, of the Dodson Branch community, passed away April 20 at his residence. A memorial service will be held on May 8 at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home at 4 p.m. The family has chosen cremation.

He was born Jan. 1, 1963 in Cookeville. He was a construction worker by trade.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Birdle Knight and Billie Jane Thornton Knight; and brother, Danny “Worm” Knight.

Surviving relatives include: daughter, Misty Rittenberry of Cookeville; brothers, Ricky Knight of the Dodson Branch community and Johnny Knight of North Carolina; and sister, Tammy Allen of Gainesboro.
