Donald Bryant

Donald Bryant, 80, of the Stone community, passed away Aug. 18 at his residence. Funeral services were held Aug. 20 at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jay Loyd, Bro. Les Ditto, Bro. Jordan Bryant and Bro. Joe Finch officiating. Interment followed in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers were Daniel Padgett, Travis Bryant, Cruz Loftis, Jerry Anderson, Harold Flatt, Alfred Flatt, Ken McMillan and Rodney McMillan.

He was born July 22, 1941 in Booneville, Ark. He was the evangelist at Lakeview Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by: parents, George Woods Bryant and Lillie Orene Richardson Bryant; daughter, Terri Loftis; brother, Shelburne Bryant; sister, Joann Loyd; and brother in law, Junior Loyd.

Surviving relatives include: wife, Anita Bryant of Gainesboro; son, Shelby (Donna) Bryant of Gainesboro; brothers, CE (Eula Faye) Bryant of Booneville, Ark. and Jerry (Rhonda) Bryant of Greenwood, Ark.; sister, Glenda (Jim) Lafferty of Certerton, Ark.; sister in law, Jeanette Bryant of Booneville, Ark.; grandchildren, Jordan Bryant and Travis Bryant of Gainesboro, Jada (Daniel) Padgett of Carthage, Cruz and Michela Loftis of Waldorf, MD; and great grandchildren, Tucker, Bean, Kolt, Kutler and Knox.

Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

 

Shirley Ann Harper

Shirley Ann Harper, 77, of Gainesboro, passed away Aug. 13 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held Aug. 17 at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Dunn officiating. Interment followed in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery.

She was born Dec. 26, 1943 in Jackson County. She was a retired RN and a member of the Dodson Branch Freewill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by: parents, Amos Smith and Katie Katherine Hix Smith; husband, Bill (Pokey) Pippin; son, Darryl Wayne Estep; brothers, Fred Smith and Cecil Smith; and sister, Lucille Phann.

Surviving relatives include: husband, Donnie Wayne Harper of Gainesboro; son, Kenneth (Stinker) Estep, Jr. of Gainesboro; daughters, Teresa (Wendell) Hall of Hilham and Julie (Shaun) Thomas of Gainesboro; grandchildren, Casey Allen, Jesse (Teia) Allen, Katie (Kendall) Dodson, Conner (Allyson) Hall, Anna-Grace Hall, Noah Hall, Joshua Welch, Amanda (Brad) Looper, Tyler Estep, Cailyn Estep, Kaitlyn (Richard) Ward, Kaleb Young, Kristen Young and Emma Thomas; and great grandchildren, Haley Allen, Rhett Allen, Millie Allen, Hadley Grace Dodson, Jules Looper, Jazz Looper, Maizee Ward and Haidyn Ward.

Revel Jerl Masters

Revel Jerl Masters, 89, of Livingston, passed away Aug. 13 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held Aug. 17 at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Scott officiating. Interment followed in the Smith’s Chapel Cemetery in Putnam County.

He was born Jan. 6, 1932 in Jackson County. He was an automotive factory worker and affiliated with the Church of Christ. He serviced in the U.S. Air Force.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Birdel Masters and Florence Lee Masters; wife, Sallie Mae Scott Masters; daughter, Sandra Masters; grandson, Michael Masters; five brothers; and one sister.

Surviving relatives include: sons, Jerl Masters of Livingston, Bill (Barb) Masters of Newport, Mich. and Randall Masters of Ariz..; brother, Noah Masters of Fla.; sister, Dee Masters of Mich.; four grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Bill W. Ragland

Bill W. Ragland, 78, passed away Aug. 7, at Signature Healthcare of Putnam County in Algood. Funeral services were held Aug. 11 in the Chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Fox and Tommy Pedigo officiating. Interment followed with military honors at John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery.

He was born May 30, 1943 in Jackson County. He was a member of the Church of Christ and a retired hospital administrator. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict.

He was preceded in death by: parents, George William and Lassie York Ragland; daughter and son in law, Amy Ragland Russell and Jeff Russell; sisters, Daffo Franklin, Kathy Bain and Linda Gail Shuffler; brother and sister in law, Eddie and Linda Ragland; and brother in law, Marvin Franklin.

Surviving relatives include: companion, Betty Lacy of Cookeville, daughter, Laura (Josh) Wynn of FL; grandchildren, Dakota Ragland, Kendra Naspinski, Jaida Wynn and Zane Wynn; brother, Charles (Sue) Ragland of Gainesboro; brother in laws, James Bain and Larry D. Shuffler, both of Cookeville.
