Jackson County Middle School will host a town hall meeting on Gov. Bill Lee’s proposed new student funding formula.
That meeting will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 30 at 5:30 p.m. It will be one of eight town halls across the state and the only one in the Upper Cumberland region.
“I am happy to host that, and I’m glad it’s in Jackson County,” Director of Schools Kristy Brown said. “It will allow us to highlight some of our things.”
Brown said the town hall will be in either the gymnasium or auditorium, and has been told to prepare for 200 to 300 people.
“What they do at the state level, we’ll have to, of course, see what that looks like at the local level,” Brown said. “I appreciate the funding the county provides for the schools.”
