Hello everyone! My name is Amilia Rich and I am very excited to inform you that I will be serving as your 2025 June Dairy Month chairperson! This month will be full of fun learning opportunities for not only me, but you as well. Do you know why June is recognized as the National Dairy Month? Well, according to the Dairy Alliance website, Dairy Month started out as a way to distribute extra milk during the warm months of summer. The commemoration was established in 1937 by grocers organizations sponsoring National milk month. By 1939, June officially became known as Dairy month to promote all dairy products.
This June pay tribute to dairy farmers across the southeast by participating in one of our many local events planned in Jackson County. Start your summer off by celebrating June Dairy month with a glass of milk to enrich your body with all the nutritious things milk has to offer! This month, with the assistance of our local UT Extension Service, I want to invite all of you to join me at our events that have been planned. I look forward to meeting you all.
