Pauline Richardson

Pauline Richardson, 79, of Gainesboro, passed away Jan. 22 at her residence. Funeral services were held Jan. 24, in the Chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Interment followed in the Pharris Cemetery.

She was born Oct. 19, 1942 in Gainesboro. She was a member of the McCoinsville Church of Christ and housewife.

She was preceded in death by: parents, Lon D. Chaffin and Zula Mayberry.

Surviving relatives include: husband, Durell Dale Richardson of Gainesboro; daughters, Wanda (Tim) Dodson, Lisa (Keith) Dodson and Christy (Oliver) Lynch, of all of Gainesboro; sons, David Durell Richardson and Gary (Angela) Richardson, both of Gainesboro; grandchildren, Keisha Birdwell, Jessica Patterson, Jamie Richardson, Tyler Dodson, Hailey Dodson, Kyle Richardson, Evan Richardson, Carlie Dodson, Tanner Dodson, Trenton Dodson and Miley Hix; great grandchildren; Andrew, Adrianna, Alex, Kailee, Isla, Ellis and Emory.

Don Meredith

Don Meredith, 83, of Cookeville, passed away Jan. 22 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held Jan. 25 in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Jeff Fitzpatrick and Roy Ragland officiating.

He was born Oct. 19, 1938 in Jellico. He was the owner and operator of Meredith Tree Company.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Arlie and Louise Stiff Meredith; spouse, Brenda Jean Mabery Meredith; brother, Gene Grissom; and sister, Lynn Meredith.

Surviving relatives include: sons, Christopher Meredith of Cookeville and Cory Meredith of Cookeville; daughters, Carrie (George) Sumnik of Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich., Cheryl Flatt of Gainesboro and Dawn (Jessica Eaton) Meredith of Sparta; sister, Red Meredith of Calif.; grandchildren, Janelle (Matthew) Michels, Alexandra Sumnik, Elizabeth Sumnik, Nikolas Sumnik, Iggy Sumnik, Donna Meredith, Brooklyn (Justin) Locke, Cheyenne Collier, Austin Winningham, Caelon Eaton, Caelie Eaton, Dominic Eaton, Destiny Eaton, Jordan White and Caden Eaton; great grandchildren, Harrison Michels, Briella Hix, Silas Hix and Kyler Locke; and best friend Roy Ragland.

Jimmy E. Stafford

Jimmy Edward Stafford, 56, of Gainesboro, passed away Jan. 23 at his residence. Memorial services were held Jan. 26 at the Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Lakeland Barham officiating. The family has chosen cremation.

He was born July 11, 1965 in Canton, Ohio. He was a truck driver and affiliated with the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Billy Edward Stafford and Jerline Smallwood Stafford.

Surviving relatives include: sons, Jimmy Edward Stafford, Jr. and Brandon Stafford; daughter, Tamara Stafford; brother, Stevie (Tonya) Stafford of Gainesboro; sisters, Deborah Stafford Deming of Gainesboro and Kathy (Corky) Trisdale of Bloomington Springs; grandchildren, Trinity Kate, Riley Laven, Vera Elizabeth, Taylor Serenity, Gabriel and Christina Rose.

William “Bill” Jacobs

William “Bill” Jacobs, 60, of Gainesboro, passed away Jan. 25 at Centennial Medical Center. Funeral services were held Jan. 31 at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Pastor Johnny West officiating. Interment followed in the Double Springs Cemetery.

He was born June 19, 1961 in Bay City, Mich. He worked as a machinist in the tool and die industry with Genco Stamping and was a member of the Willette Christian Church. He also served in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by: mother, Suzanne Lynn Arndt Burgess; son, Matthew Jacobs; step sister, Renee Coblentz; grandparents; and uncle Wayne Groom.

Surviving relatives include: wife, Darlene Jacobs of Gainesboro; sons, Richard Jacobs of Monroe, Michael Jacobs of Gainesboro and Robert Jacobs of Gainesboro; daughters, Christina Brown of Japan, Cassey Jones of Carthage and Kayla Jacobs of Cookeville; brother, Greg Jacobs of Bay City, Mich.; step brothers, Brian Spencer of Fla; sister, Carla Rivers of PA; step sister, Karen Abbs of Ind.; father and step mother, William Louis (Mary) Jacobs Sr. of Fla; 24 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Nick Carter

Nick Carter, 64, of Gainesboro, passed away Jan. 26 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Memorial services will be held at Jackson County High School at a later date.

He was born Oct. 8, 1957 in Jackson, Mich. He was a police officer and the former chief deputy of Jackson County. He served as the SRO at Jackson County High School and also served in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by: parents, David Carter and Gladys Johnson Carter; brother, David Carter; and sister, Zelda Carter.

Surviving relatives include: sons, Jerry Carter of Gainesboro and Brandon Carter of Fort Myers, Fla.; daughters, Amanda Carter of Oklahoma, Samantha Carter of Cookeville. Kathlyn Pierce of Albany, Ky. and Rosie Carter of Butte, Mont.; sisters, Rachel Vaughn of Cookeville, Diane Carter of Jackson, Mich and Margaret Meglich of Ringgols, Ga; 11 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

Willie Howard Montgomery

Willie Howard Montgomery, 69, of Gainesboro, passed away Jan. 26 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held Jan. 30 in the Chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Interment followed in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.

He was born Aug. 27, 1952 in Cookeville. He was a landscaper and also a sawmill operator at Indiana Hardwood for 15 years. He was also a member of the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Willis Montgomery and Betty B. Profitt Montgomery; brothers, Earnest and James Montgomery; and sister, Barbara Streetman.

Surviving relatives include: wife, Judy Stafford Montgomery of Gainesboro; sons, Ray Montgomery of Gainesboro, Jason (Kaylanna) Montgomery of Celina and Brandon (Tina) Montgomery of Whitleyville; brother, Bill Montgomery of Baxter; sisters, Willene Long and Roberta Hunter, both of Cookeville, Elizabeth Rodgers of Gainesboro and Nella (Steve) Nash of Baxter; 15 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; along with other relatives and many friends.
