John Cassetty 

John Bennett Cassetty was born January 8, 1954, in Jackson County, TN, and he passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN, at the age of 70.

He was the son of Charles Edward Cassetty and Navoy Virgie Hawkins Cassetty. He worked for Northern Telecom.  He was a gifted musician and loved music.  He was a former member of the Legacy Band and was a member of various other musical bands throughout the years.

Survivors include his son: Ian Bennett Cassetty of Gainesboro, TN; sisters: Deborah (Mike) Searcy and Charlene Cassetty both from Gainesboro, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Angie Reed Cassetty.

The family has chosen cremation at this time with a memorial service to be held on Sunday, February 18, 2024, from 11 A.M. until time of service at 2 P.M. in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to help assist the family with the cremation expenses by contacting the business office of the funeral home.

Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Jean Richardson 

Jean Garrett Richardson was born November 21, 1932, in Gainesboro, TN and she passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024, in Cookeville Regional Medical Center at the age of 91.

She was married to Therold Lee Richardson who passed away on March 17, 2010.  She was a member of the Gainesboro First United Methodist Church and a former business owner.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Nancy Richardson of Gainesboro; grandchildren, Elliott and Rachel Richardson and Graham Richardson; great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Abigail Richardson.

Memorial service was on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 2 pm at the Gainesboro First United Methodist Church with Bro. Joe Beavon officiating.

Versie Lee Derossitt 

Versie Derossitt was born July 4, 1957, in Nashville, TN, and she passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center at the age of 66.

She was the daughter of JB Brown and AV Johnson Brown.  She was married to Kenneth Lee Derossitt on January 8, 1979.   They were married for over 45 years.  She was a support specialist.  She was gifted with a beautiful singing voice which she shared with others for over 20 years.

Survivors include sons: Scottie (AJ) Brown of Baxter, TN, and Brad (Valena) Derossitt of Livingston, TN; brother: Jerry Brown of Baxter, TN; sisters: Janice Haugk of Baxter, TN, and Margie (Steve) Moore of Sparta, TN.  She is survived by several grandchildren and one great grandchild.

She was preceded in death her parents, brothers: Ronnie, Garry, and Ricky Brown; sisters: Mary, Martha, and Elizabeth.

The family has chosen cremation at this time.

Jimmy Edward Lee 

Jimmy Edward Lee was born April 4,1961, in Jackson County, TN, and he passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN, at the age of 62.

He was the son of Roy Millard Lee and Arizona Cravens Lee. He was a construction worker by trade.

Survivors include his wife: Penny Patricia Lee; daughter: Candy Boles of Algood, TN; stepdaughter: Janesa Smith of Hilham, TN; step-son: Brent Smith of IN; brothers: Odell (Tammy) Lee and Joe (Norma) Lee both of Gainesboro, TN, and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Maxine Newberry and Loretta Geesling.

The family has chosen cremation at this time.

Brenda Lee Dill 

Brenda Lee Dill was born August 4, 1955, in Jackson County, TN, and she passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at her residence at the age of 68.

She was the daughter of Ed Heady and Rosa Rhoten Heady. She was a member of McCoinsville Church of Christ in Gainesboro, TN, and worked as a CNA.  She was a resident of Aarons Branch Community.  She was married to Donnie C. Dill on August 30, 1975, celebrating 48 years of marriage.

Mrs. Dill was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Joe, Bobby Clay, Coy and Larry Heady; sisters: Mary Prill and Judy Heady.

Survivors include her husband, Donnie C. Dill; sons: Daniel Corey (Jessica) Dill of Gainesboro, TN, and Christopher Edward Dill of Cookeville, TN; brothers: Roland Heady of Gainesboro, TN, and Danny Heady of Monterey, TN; sisters: Pam Humphreys of Cookeville, TN, and Gayle Pharris of Algood, TN; grandchildren: Jadyn Dill, Caleb Dill, and Jaren Dill.  Other relatives and friends also survive.

Visitation was on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, 4 to 8 pm. and again on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, from 12 pm until time of services.  Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 2 pm in the Chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Ronald Strong officiating. Burial followed in the Pharris Cemetery.
