Crews are cleaning a spill from a truck hauling emulsified asphalt that happened up-river from the parking area. The truck overturned on the bank causing the spill on July 20. The driver was unhurt. At this time the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is not seeing aquatic impact. TN Department of Environment and Conservation and the EPA are overseeing the cleanup. As of Friday afternoon according to Cordell Hull Lake representatives, after meeting with EPA, the decision was made to open Roaring River Swim area.
